Built in 1928, Matthews Hall Topsham is named after its builder and donor James Woodrow Matthews and has been a community focus for more than 80 years. Following recent refurbishments, Matthews Hall was awarded the Topsham Society Enhancing Topsham Award in 2010.
A market is held every Saturday and has a wide range of items for all ages.
Matthews Hall is at the centre of the community and is used by local clubs, societies and charities as well as educational bodies. Regular users include: Badminton, Drama groups, Film Society, Guides and Brownies, youth activities, art classes and a variety of keep fit activities.
There is a café that is open most days offering a range of light snacks.
Our halls and council chamber are available to hire for events, drama productions, weddings and exercise classes. Our cafe is also available to hire for meetings and social gatherings.
Matthews Hall is licensed for civil ceremonies until 3 February 2014.
